Count Your Blessings

I think this might’ve been the second finish for this year. It was something quick and I thought it was so cute. Lizzie*Kate is such a great designer. This design is one of her freebies at her website. You can find it here. The only thing that is missing is a little heart button on the pink square. I don’t know, I might just stitch it instead.

Anyway, I stitched this in a piece of 14ct oatmeal aida with a total of 4 DMC color threads. I’m trying to find a little frame to go with it.

Year of Starts!

That is the title of a SAL in the Facebook group I’m a member of: Stitch Maynia. Year of starts is a crazy SAL where most of us are participating. It consist of doing 366 starts in a year (daily starts), 52 starts in a year (monthly starts), or 12 starts in a year (monthly starts). I chose to do 52 starts in a year and, so far, I’m up to 16 which puts me ahead (this week is week 15 of the year). Anyway, so this week I thought I was behind by one week so I did two starts. I was so sure I was on time but a typo in my report in the group confirmed that I was, indeed, on time. However, I found out after I started two pieces this week.

So, I will be sharing the last three pieces that I started:

The first one is Espresso Yourself by Kinkavel Kross. The starting point is just the top of one of the coffee cups. I’m planning to finish the cups and do the letters for the rotation.

The second one is a bookmark that I am planning on giving it to my niece as a gift. She loves cats and I think this one is cute and it will be very useful for her bible. As you can see, I have a paw and the word “paws” already done. Next I will be finishing all of the paws and the letterings.

The third one is a second chart that came in a pack of DMC threads. It was a pink and a blue flower. Therefore I am making this a part of my “April Shower Brings May Flower” SAL over at Stitch Maynia. I am planning on finish them both; or at least I’ll try. I started with two of the flower stem. Next I will finish the vase.

The last two were the ones that I started on the same day. Therefore, now I’m ahead of the game.

WIP Wednesday! WIP Gallore…

I’ve been a bad blogger lately. I have not posted anything in the last week or so. But I have an excuse: I’ve been stitching up a storm. I’ve started three new projects and worked on my current WIP rotation. In addition, I was dealing with the flu; I’m all better now.

The pieces that I’ve been working on are all a joy to stitch. The first one is Candy Cane Basket. I didn’t share this with you but I’m planning on making Christmas ornament for my new apartment. I’m planning on getting my own apartment soon and, unlike my previous apartment, I’m planning on decorating it with lots of pretty things. My Christmas tree will be making an appearance and most of the decorations will be from cross stitch ornaments that I want to make. (I’m rambling, sorry.) Well, here is the piece:

So, as you can see, I’ve added the bow to the basket. My next thing to do is stitch the whole basket and then have a starting point on the greenery.
My next piece was Do not Interrupt me by Kinkavel Kross. Not sure what I will be doing with it after I’m done but it sure will be either a little hanging pillow or just frame it to decorate my little stitching spot in my apartment.

As you can see, there are more words and I started the vine border. I’m planing on finishing the border first before I finish the piece off with the rest of the letters. So this will be stitched up quickly.
The next piece I worked on was Nativity by MCG Textiles; another Christmas ornament for my tree.

As you can see, I started up with a little blop but now you can note what it seems to be the little nativity house. I’m planing on finishing it up and keep stitching the little girl’s dress in my next rotation. Also, this kit came with the little plastic square that would finish off the ornament. Well, I lost it. Can’t remember where I put it. So, I think I will be finish it off differently. I will share my idea when the time comes.
As I mentioned earlier, I have three new starts. But I will write a new post about it.
Thanks for reading! Happy stitching!
