Stitching Bloggers Blog Hop: Staying Active

This month’s topic at Stitching the Night Away blog hop is about how to stay active. What are the challenges I face every day and share some tips about staying active. I have to say that the first thing I do to stay active and the first tip I can share is that you have to love what you do. Whether is walking, running, doing errants, or exercising. Then the fun of it all will not be there and, eventually, you’ll get tired and bored. The love for doing what you do is what keeps you doing it.

  1. I Love what I do. Whether is running errands or walking around downtown on my way to my Local Needlework Shop.
  2. Since this is not a race I take my time. I leave my house with plenty of time ahead just so that I don’t rush. If it’s just a walk in the park then I don’t have to think about closing time.
  3. I Don’t think so much about finishing. I enjoy every step, every breath I take, and every movement.
  4. When I do think about finishing, I think about the joy of having it done and the benefits of doing it.
  5. I also think about how my doctor will react on my next appointment. I am asthmatic and my lungs will thank me later.
Some of the challenges :
  1. TV. Most people have a “schedule” of shows that they watch regularly and the thought of “missing” their shows won’t let them get up and move around. This was my case three years ago.
  2. Schedule. I had to shift my schedule so that I could include activities that would keep me in movement. It was hard at first but I succeeded.
Thanks for reading.

Yearly SAL: Pumpkin Passport Day 1

So I’ve been looking at the pattern from The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery from many stitchers and the different way they stitch this project. I’ve wanted to join in the fun but my budget wouldn’t allow it. I finally am in!… and I have A LOT to catch up. January, February, March, and April have to be done before the end of May.

I love traveling. I didn’t know I did until mid June of 2013. Now, I’m making it my goal to stitch anything that has to do with traveling. Pumpkin Passport is one of them. So, here is my first day’s update:

This is the finish piece (up to May; there is a new one each month):

This is what I’ve stitched so far:
So, as you can see, there is a lot to stitch. I’ll be dedicating this piece at least an hour each day during my rotation. My goal is to finish the letters and at start January’s part (which is England) before Tuesday.
