Stitching Bloggers Blog Hop: Staying Active

This month’s topic at Stitching the Night Away blog hop is about how to stay active. What are the challenges I face every day and share some tips about staying active. I have to say that the first thing I do to stay active and the first tip I can share is that you have to love what you do. Whether is walking, running, doing errants, or exercising. Then the fun of it all will not be there and, eventually, you’ll get tired and bored. The love for doing what you do is what keeps you doing it.

  1. I Love what I do. Whether is running errands or walking around downtown on my way to my Local Needlework Shop.
  2. Since this is not a race I take my time. I leave my house with plenty of time ahead just so that I don’t rush. If it’s just a walk in the park then I don’t have to think about closing time.
  3. I Don’t think so much about finishing. I enjoy every step, every breath I take, and every movement.
  4. When I do think about finishing, I think about the joy of having it done and the benefits of doing it.
  5. I also think about how my doctor will react on my next appointment. I am asthmatic and my lungs will thank me later.
Some of the challenges :
  1. TV. Most people have a “schedule” of shows that they watch regularly and the thought of “missing” their shows won’t let them get up and move around. This was my case three years ago.
  2. Schedule. I had to shift my schedule so that I could include activities that would keep me in movement. It was hard at first but I succeeded.
Thanks for reading.
