My New Stitching View

My new stitching views are much more peaceful and enjoyable! So far, I’m loving my new place in central Florida! I still don’t have a lot of Stitchy time. I’m still waiting for all of my stuff to be delivered and then I’ll get it organized. But I can sit down at the end of the day and put a stitch or two on my Maple Lane by The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery SAL.

I’m also doing my plans for next year. I’m thinking of a “no new start” in 2022, WIPocalypse, and WIPGO. I currently have about 40 WIPs at the moment so I’m planning to get this list down as much as possible. Maybe by half. I’ll be more than happy if I can get it down to 12.

I’ll be sharing my plans later. For now, I’ll keep enjoying the fabulous weather here and completing clue 2 of Maple Lane.

Busy Bee

We are only on the 7th of the month and it has been crazy! Not much stitching going because I’m moving next month! I’m on a packing mission… I hate moving. Honestly. And, to top it all off, I got sick with a cold 😟.

Since I packed up all of my WIPs, I’m only working on the one I have to finish before I leave: my mother’s cat. I also left the temperature typography one but I’m behind on that one. I haven’t completed September yet.
Here’s what I have so far on my mother’s cat:

This is Thai Cat by Riolis. It is a kit and I’m using all of threads and fabric which is a 10 count flaxen evenweave. (I’m not sure about the evenweave part, this looks and feel like an Aida). It’s pretty much done. All I have to do is stitch her name and frame it. I also should mention that my mother’s cat passed away on April 24 of this year. It was a very sad day for all of us. I decided to stitch her and gift it to my mother. So I started her on 7/24/2021.
There are so many projects in my WIP list that are calling me but I won’t be able to work on them until I move – they are all packed! I hate feeling like this. I want to be able to have access to my stuff. On one side I’m sad that I’m leaving the place where I’ve lived almost all my life. On the other, I’m happy I’m getting a change of scenery and start my life in a less chaotic place.

Cross Stitch Camp: August

I fully finished my August project! It is not perfect and it has lots of mistakes. Now I can say that I’ve worked with 40 count silk gauze and silk threads (oh and 1 over 1 on this is no joke. I applaud those of you who do it). This one in particular is all from Kreinik. This was originally finished as a brooch but couldn’t find the brooch. I tried finding one of those tiny ceramic trinket or jar but couldn’t find it either. So I finished it on this necklace. All I can say is that 40 count is not for me. Maybe I’ll try it again but certainly not 1 over 1. @coloradocrossstitcher #crossstitchcamp

Cross Stitch Camp: July

Finished My Needle and Thread by Waxing Moon Designs. I gave her a smile, a pony tail and pink shoe laces 😆. I stitched it on 28ct mushroom evenweave.

Next month I will continue #crossstitchcamp using 3 things I’ve never used before: silk gauze, 40 count and silk thread. This is Silk Rose Brooch on 40ct silk gauze using silk threads by Kreinik designed by Cherie Marie Leck @coloradocrossstitcher
