WIP Wednesday

Happy WIP Wednesday! Today I will be working on my next WIP in my rotation which is First Star by SamSarah Designs, Nativity by MCG Textiles, and Twilight Angel by Dimensions Gold (pics below). Now, this last piece is the one I will be doing for my Whine and Wip SAL at Stitch Maynia.

The reason why is because this piece is a little bit of a headache for me do to the fact that it is my first piece with beads. I’ve never worked with beads before.

After these three pieces, if I work with the next piece in my rotation, I will write about it next Wednesday.

It’s Not Easy Being Green SAL

I wanted to give you an update on the SAL that I am doing at the Stitch Maynia group in Facebook. So far, I’m doing great and I think I’ll finish it, if not this week, next week. On time by the end of this month and in time to start my next monthly SAL in April which I will be sharing my project in a different post.

So, I can’t show you the finished piece because I have a digital pattern but this is what I have so far:

I don’t know what I’m going to do once I’m done with all the stitching. I’ll think about it later but I want to finish it because I just love the design.
As always, thanks for reading and happy stitching!

WIP Wednesday… On Thursday

First, let me apologize for not writing this post today when it was supposed to be posted yesterday. I honestly was too tired and went to bed.

Well, at the present time, I only have 7 WIPs in my current rotation. My rotation consist of working at least an hour on each piece alphabetically. I adopted this rotation from Katy The Stash Queen who is the admin of the group I belong to in Facebook. Yesterday, I spend some time with three pieces that were a little troublesome in a particular area and I decided to work on them.

1. Nativity by MCG Textiles (Kit. Stitched on 18ct white Aida and cotton floss)

2. St Patrick’s Shamrock by Brooke’s Brooks (Stitched on 14ct gold Aida and DMC cotton floss)

3. Stitching Days by Gory Bee (Stitched on 14ct ivory Aida and DMC cotton floss)
So, today, I am at the top of my rotation and will be working on Count your Blessings, Do not interrupt me, and Fabulous.

Thanks for reading and happy stitching!

SALs Updates for this week

Hi everyone!

SALs (Stitch-A-Longs) were not something that I would do years ago. This was mainly because of lack of information. I didn’t know what a SAL was. I thought that it was something where you would mail the project to someone else so they can continue stitching; this is actually a round robin. My ignorance about this didn’t let me experience how fun SALs are!

In Facebook, I found lots of SALs but there was one in particular that I thought it was more laid back and more flexible. So, I joined Stitch Maynia. No, I didn’t misspelled that. Maynia as in May which is when the group started with 15 new starts in that month.

There are all sorts of SALs throughout the year and I’m in almost all of them. The one for March is titled: “It’s not easy being green”. Therefore, my project for this SAL is St. Patrick’s Shamrock by Brooke’s Books. Can’t show the finished project because is a digital pattern but below you’ll see my progress:

St. Patrick’s Shamrock by Brooke’s Books (on 14ct. gold Aida and DMC cotton floss)
There is also another SAL which is called “Year of Starts”. We have the option of doing 366 (daily), 52 (weekly), 12 (monthly). I chose to do 52 starts and, so far, I am up to date. I have 9 out of 52 already done. These are the ones:

Do not interrupt me by Virginia Knutson (on 14ct. off white Aida and DMC cotton floss)

Fergie and Fergus by Kincavel Krosses (on 14ct. off white Aida and DMC cotton floss)

Nativity by MCG Textiles (on 18ct. white Aida and cotton floss)

Stitching Days by Glory Bee (on 14ct. off white Aida, DMC cotton floss, and Loops and Threads variegated floss)

Twighlight Angel by Dimensions Gold Petittes (on 16ct. grey Aida, cotton floss, metallic threads, charms, sequins, and beads)
Wedding Collage by Janlynn (on 14ct. white Aida and DMC cotton floss)

Fabulous by Cross Stitch Guild

Count your Blessings by Lizzie Kate (on 14ct. oatmeal Aida and DMC cotton floss)
I’ve decided to take the Wedding Collage out of my rotation because I’m planning to do this project for the November SAL in Stitch Maynia. So you’ll see it being worked on then. In the meantime, I will not touch it until November.
I also decided to make my rotation more organized. Therefore, I will be working with 7 projects during the week in alphabetical order. I will start doing this tomorrow.
And those are my SALs and my rotation. I will come back next Sunday with an update on these.
Thanks for reading and happy stitching!
